Iran Reports Strike on American Facility in the Kingdom of Bahrain, During Widespread Military Operations.
Iran's military claims to have hit a US naval base in Bahrain, as the country executed operations throughout the Middle East in retaliation for a large-scale and ongoing assault targeting the nation by the US and Israel.
Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an area near the main base of the American Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The full scale of any destruction is unclear and the US has yet to issue a statement.
Missile Defenses Activated
Elsewhere across the region, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Kuwait - each hosting American military installations - stated they have engaged and destroyed incoming projectiles in their airspace.
In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence announced it had successfully engaged a number of projectiles seemingly aimed at the Al Udeid Air Base, the largest American base in the region.
Operation "Truthful Promise 4"
Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) stated it was striking American facilities and interests as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the attack on the Islamic Republic initiated by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday.
That initial attack - initiated at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far struck sites associated with the the regime, with US President Donald Trump calling on the Iranian people to revolt against the regime.

In the State of Israel, air raid sirens sounded nationwide after the Israel Defense Forces reported it had detected an barrage of missiles from Iran.
The Ministry of Defence of the United Arab Emirates said in a statement that the country has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"UAE air defence systems dealt with the projectiles with great effectiveness and destroyed a series of missiles," it added.
The statement noted missile fragments fell on a residential area in Abu Dhabi, resulting in some material damage and the death of one civilian.
The US Air Force is stationed at the Al Dhafra base, to the south of the Emirati capital, along with the UAE Air Force.
